Welcome to your Brand and Product
Session Guide

Thank you so much for booking a session with me. I am so excited to work with you and finding out all about your business, to have fun and capture some beautiful, natural images that tell the story of your business and passions and that will add so much value to your marketing. This session guide will tell you everything you need to know about a photoshoot with me and how you can prepare.

LeanneElizabeth(16).jpg

This is me, Leanne. mum of two, memory catcher, sunset lover, relaxed and natural newborn and family photographer covering Gloucestershire and The Cotswolds. I can't wait to get to know you too.

I take a very relaxed approach to all my sessions. My main aim is to make everyone feel comfortable and is very much about documenting you and what you get up to behind the scenes in your business. At some points along the way, I will ask you to look at the camera to get those head shot worthy portraits. Or I will find a colourful background or some pretty light for you to stand in. As part of the photoshoot I will also get some product shots so that you have a whole variety of images to you use for your social media and for your website.

CHOOSING A TIME AND LOCATION

I only use natural light and only use a flash if completely necessary. Therefore, our only time restriction is when there is light! However, if its a dark day, we can always utilise the inside lights.

As my branding photoshoots are all about telling your unique business story, I will delve into what your business is about, where you spend your working day and what your values are. Therefore, photoshoots can take place at your place of work, in your home or somewhere that is related to your brand. For example, if you are a musician but your inspired by nature, we can head outdoors or if you a florist, we can head to where you get your flowers or somewhere that gives you inspiration.

A GUIDE ON WHAT TO WEAR

The most important thing is that you must feel comfortable, otherwise it will show in the photos. You also want the photo's to represent you and your brand So you do you. However if you need a bit of guidance here are a few tips on some things that will make the resulting images feel more timeless and more pleasing on the eye.

Do's:

Soft and neutral tones will always photograph well, e.g. pastels or greys/beiges/whites (not all white though)

Earthy tones will give a more vibrant feel and look great together (burgundy/greens/mustards/blues/burnt oranges)

Use variation in colours for each person as well as mixing up different textures (denim/cotton/wool/linen, etc) this will add depth and texture to your images

Layering looks lovely in photos and can give you variation (scarfs/shirts/hats/cardigans/jackets – depending on weather)

Think about your brand colours. Could you incorporate those into your clothing?

Dont's:

Ideally stay away from too bright or overly patterned clothes as this will take away from what is happening in the images

I would advise to stay away from big logos/brands printed as this will takeaway from the timeless feel of the images.

During our pre-photoshoot discussions I am more than happy to help you with your outfit choices further and you are more than welcome to email me some ideas or any options that you have already in your wardrobe. Ideally I wouldn’t want you to spend where you wouldn't need to. I want you to feel comfortable and confident!

  • HOW TO PREPARE YOUR WORKSPACE

  •

  • These sessions are about documenting how you work so I won't ask you to do too much prior to the photoshoot but here are a few helpful tips just to have everything ready:

  •

  • Clear away anything you don't want including in the images

  •

  • Take out any products or items you particularly would like photographed

  •

  • I will be documenting all aspects on the workspace, so items on shelves, noticeboards etc.

  •

  • I love adding texture and greenery to images so if you have anything that you can gather that might be useful then please feel free to do so if it fits in with your brand. E.g. plants, blankets, cushions etc.

  •

  • Choose clothing that represents you and your brand and take note of my tips above.

PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

I adore bringing your visions for your products to life. I work closely with you on the brief to ensure that the final images represent you and your brand.

Prior to our photoshoot I will send you an introductory questionnaire where I will get to know you and your business. I will then arrange a phone call or meeting to discuss in more details. We will go through location, model and prop requirements as well as your vision for the final images in more detail. I will also create mood boards to ensure that we have the same ideas in mind.

These photoshoots are completely tailored to you and your business so preparing for the shoot can't really be covered in this guide but it will be fully covered in our pre-photoshoot discussion.

LETTERBOX PRODUCT PHOTOGRAPHY

If you just need your products beautifully photographed, I am offering this from my home with a small studio space and I also incorporate some lifestyle images too if required. All you need to do is to drop off or post the products to me and I can then send back to you once I have finished.

I will send you a questionnaire where you will tell me all about your brand and your brief. I will then create some mood boards to make sure we have the similar visions.

The pricing of these depend on your requirements so if you would like a quote, please get in touch. You may want to add this on top of your branding session if you need images for an online shop for example.

FILM

If you opt for a film package, I will create a loose plan to make sure that the story flows with a beginning and end that make sense. However, I will mainly stand back and capture what unfolds in front of me as you go about your normal day. I will offer prompts here and there and might ask you to repeat something if possible to get the action at a different angle but that is it.

In our pre-shoot discussions, I will get a feel of how you work and get an idea beforehand of the type of footage I would like to get to tell your unique business story. There is an option to use audio as well which will give you the opportunity to talk about what you do and why you do it. I find this is such an effective way to capture your audience and add that extra and emotional touch. I will send you a few questions that you can prepare some answers if you feel like you need some prompts and we will usually do this at the end of the shoot. The audio will play over the footage with the music and is so effective.

Before our shoot I will also select the music I would like the film to be played along to. This way I will have the music in mind as while collecting the footage so that it will all fit together nicely.
