An Interview with Amy from Busylizzy Cheltenham

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Amy and I run Busylizzy Cheltenham

What started you into your journey into offering fitness to new mums?

When I was on maternity leave myself I was keen to get back into fitness but struggled to work that around my daughters so I wanted to find a way to make it work for new mums! I had also been quite nervous about exercising when I was pregnant as I just didn’t know what was safe - we run fab classes that keep ladies fit and well throughout pregnancy.

What is your favourite thing about your classes?

Our classes are really relaxed and friendly - whether a mum has had no sleep, having a good day or a bad day, we are always here. We make everything as fun as we can - laughter is the best! We make booking, cancelling, rescheduling classes easy via our app so it’s really flexible and no one needs to miss out.

How do you think fitness and your classes help with a mum's mental and physical wellbeing?

Having the chance to meet others and most importantly have fun with your little one is such a tonic for everyone’s well-being. Starting to move your body and regain strength is so important, whether that’s yoga or pilates or something more upbeat like bootcamp or aerobics.

Where are your classes and what do they entail?

We offer a range of postnatal safe fitness classes, baby classes and we also offer 2 pregnancy fitness classes too. They are 30 or 45 mins long and babies come to all postnatal fitness classes so you don’t need any childcare. It’s more than classes - it’s a hub of activity including coffee meet ups, events and workshops. All our classes run at Pip & Jim’s in Leckhampton - a large beautiful space that is an amazing sensory experience for the little ones!

Are children welcome to join in?

Babies come with you to every class, older siblings are also very welcome. The baby classes are also perfect if dads, grandparents etc want to join the fun too.

What are your visions for the future with Busylizzy?

We want to keep welcoming lovely mums-to-be and new mums into our Busylizzy world - adding even more variety of classes and workshops!
