SEND Friendly Photoshoots in Gloucestershire

Are you looking for SEND friendly family photoshoots in Gloucestershire? Do you want beautiful family photos but have a child with additional needs and are uncertain how a photoshoot will go?

As a SEND mum myself, I know how hard it is to get nice family photos of your children. Ones that show their beautiful personality as well as look great on your walls. Photos that show the amount of love you have for your children and that you can all look back on in years to come and be transported right back to a time where things might be a little hard but also show how much love and joy you have for each other.

There are a few things that I make sure of before and during our photoshoot that enables me to get those photos you have always dreamed of:

I get to know you

I send out a questionnaire which asks you to describe your child's personality, their interests and any 'quirks' or difficulties.

We then also have a conversation on the phone or over email where we can talk about any worries or concerns you may have. We brainstorm ideas to overcome any challenges that may come up.

We choose a suitable Location

We decide on a location that is best suited to you and your children - Will they be more comfortable at home? Or will they bet off somewhere where they can run around freely? Is there somewhere that you go often that they would feel comfortable and familiar with?

We play, we connect and I observe

My photoshoots aren't the kind where we have to stand in a certain position and look at the camera. They are about capturing love, joy and real life moments. Depending on what we discussed in your pre-photoshoot phone calls, I will either just quietly observe and take photos of what is going on or I will have a list of games and prompts I can get you all to engage with for a more directed photoshoot. However, most my photoshoots will contain a mixture of both and I will observe what is needed at the time. The prompts I use are low demand, easy and the kids always have a blast with them.

I adjust

If your child doesn't like what I have suggested, no problem - we will move onto something else. I won't be offended. If they are have their own ideas, I will listen (Sometimes the best photos come from what they have imagined themselves). If they really don't want to be there and are having a bad day, we will reschedule.
